Prof. LU Yongxiang, president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), made a special inspection of Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IACAS) and gave an important speech on July 5, 2010.

After had a view of the research results in underwater acoustics, communication acoustics, ultrasonic acoustics and network new media, Dr LU Yongxinag had a symposium with the researchers and administration staff of IACAS.

WANG Xiaomin, director of IACAS presented a progress report on IACAS for the past few years. The report contains: research progress and outputs, capacity of research facilities and platform construction, exchange and talents cultivation and future work plan.

After listened to the report, Prof. LU gave high appraisal to IACAS's performances in recent years for the progress the institute has obtained facing national strategic requirements and global scientific and technological frontier. Furthermore, Prof. LU put forward higher requirements to the institute and set great hope to the promising future of IACAS.
