According to the latest news published by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Prof. WANG Jinlin of IACAS was elected as one candidate of State New Century Thousand Talents Program.

WANG Jinlin has been engaged in the researches of network communication and multimedia technology for many years and has been the principal of many projects affiliated to "863 Program". In 2000, he began to work as one member of "China High-speed Communication Demonstration Net" and was in charge of the research work of core Router, which won the 2nd grade of National Science and Technology Progress Award. In 2002, Prof. WANG Jinlin was involved into research work of 3TNet (High-Performance Wideband Communication Net), a key program of "863 Project". He, joint with more than 20 institutes in China, constructed a wideband flow-media system covering Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nanjing districts, which can support the smooth playing of HDTV. This research results earned him another National Science and Technology Progress Award of 2nd grade in 2008.

As doctoral supervisor, Prof. WANG Jinlin was awarded Outstanding Teachers of Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences; the Director of Network and New Media Technology Research Center, he has contributed a lot to the wideband net application and new media technology research work.
