The technical explanation meeting of the new research ship was held in IACAS from Sep.27-29, 2007. All together 45 delegates from IACAS, South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Shen Yang Institute of Automation, China Ship Scientific Research Center, Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co. Ltd., CSIC-711 and Shanghai Jiachuan Engineering Equipment Supervision Co. Ltd. presented at the meeting.

As the first item of the meeting, the delegates listened to the related reports on design, construction and equipment assembly. Then the technicians had discussion and coordination on the technical parts. After two days' technology coordination, most of the problems of the design had been solved. For the left ones, they agreed to have a further discussion in the near future.　

According to the early supervision results by shipyard and the coordination results of this meeting, the ship owner thought the design work had been completely done. After the acceptance check, the design would be sent to the shipyard and put into production. It was predicted the new research ship could be put into use at the end of 2008.
