During Aug.18 to 19, Dai Bowei, the section chief of the information department of the CAS Hi-tech Bureau, Zhang Chunhua, Associate Director of our institute, Ku Weiqun, the director of Science and Technology Department and the related colleagues went to Qingdao to visit our institute's researchers, who were performing the task of underwater security guard for the 2007 Qingdao International Regatta.

2007 Qingdao International Regatta was open on Aug.9, 2007. This year's regatta is also recognized by the Beijing Olympic committee as one of the six combined test events and also one of the three Olympic level test events. According to the related agreements, IACAS was appointed to be in charge of the underwater security guard for this event. The researchers from our institute and CAS Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics garrisoned the base since the early July. They worked hard and successfully finish the devices' installing and debugging work. Now the devices worked very well and guarded the related water area unpausingly. Under the lead of Prof. Xu Feng, the colleges collaborated and cooperated strenuously and orderly. Their arduous work ensured the smooth progress of the event. In the regatta base, Dai Bowei and Zhang Chunhua listened to the work report and examined the work condition of the underwater security guard system and control center. They highly praised the outstanding work of the whole group and encouraged them to make more efforts and insured the successful completion of the Olympic test event.

On the morning of Aug.19, the visiting group exchanged ideas with the leaders of sailing commission and thanked them for providing such sound condition for our researchers. The leaders of the sailing commission showed great satisfaction to our work. The two sides also made a further discussion on the details of the 2008 Olympic Sailing Regatta.
