Subdecanal Zhu Zhiyuan of CAS Shanghai Branch and Deputy Director Tian Shenrong of Science and Technology Department visited Donghai Station of our institute on Jun. 6, 2007. Besides the inspection of the station, the leaders also had a warm discussion on the construction progress of Putong Science and Technology Park.

Accompanied by the station masters, Subdecanal Zhu and Deputy Director Tian visited the Special sense organ bionic technology lab. They carefully listened to the report on the development situation of artificial cochlea and had a review of the related research results. Subdecanal Zhu himself observed the inner implantation chip and electrode composition through microscope and raised many innovative questions about electrode composition. 　

The leader group also looked around the Underwater acoustic engineering lab. Prof. Xiang Dawei briefly introduced the recent research progress and achievements in Water navigation system. Subdecanal Zhu said the jointly-built science and technology park would provide broader space and more abundant resources for our future research work. 

After the visit, Subdecanal Zhu, Deputy Director Tian and the related members held a seminar. Secretary Hu Changqing reported the development history of Donghai station, the research results and the design planning for the new park. Subdecanal Zhu fully affirmed our achievements and showed great satisfaction to the planning scheme. He also put forward higher requirements to the station's future development and was supportive in the issues of research platform and talent cultivation.

Furthermore, Subdecanal Zhu introduced the general planning and work progress of the science and technology park in detail. The whole park was divided into 4 parts: New technology base, Bio-medicine base, Energy and environment base and Education base. Our Donghai station would set up an acoustic project center in the new technology base. It was sincerely hoped that Donghai station could make full use of its advantages to meet the demand of society better and closely cooperated with the local organizations to make our Pudong science and technology park developed into a first-class international research center.
