The 1st Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Structural Dynamics and Vibroacoustics (MEDYNA 2013) had been held during 23-25 Apr in Marrakech (Morocco).

The conference was organized by five international associations, including the Acoustical Society of China.

Researcher WANG Xiaomin, the Vice Chair of the Acoustical Society of China and Director of IACAS headed a delegation attending the conference.

On behalf of the Acoustical Society of China, Researcher WANG Xiaomin delivered an address, hoping to exchange research progress and develop international cooperation with scientists in related fields at home and abroad. WANG also invited all the experts attending the MEDYNA 2013 to the ICSV21 which will be held in 2014 by IACAS.

Researcher YANG Jun from the Noise and Vibration Laboratory of IACAS gave a lecture titled “Microperforation for sound absorption and noise reduction” and it attracted attentions paid on microperforation sound absorbing structure and its design technique.

In addition, a venue was named after “MA Dayou” to commemorate his great contribution to the field of noise control.

The MEDYNA 2013 focused on the major advances in the field of Vibrations, Acoustics and Vibroacoustics. It addressed both theoretical (analytical and numerical) and experimental methods in these topics by gathering applied mathematicians, mechanicians and acousticians.
