(From Yang Lin of ThinkIT Lab) On Feb 23, 2009, Acting president of CAS Institute of Acoustics (IACAS) Prof. Zhang Chunhua visited Japan Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (JAIST). Prof. Zhang visited related labs and met with Dr. Takuya Katayama, President of JAIST.

JAIST is a Japanese national university founded in 1990 and has grown rapidly since its inception. Currently JAIST is ranked among Top 4 in information technology in Japan.

ThinkIT Speech Lab of IACAS has been collaborating with Prof Akagi and Dang's labs during the past years. In order to further the relationship between IACAS and JAIST, Prof. Zhang and Dr. Takuya Katayama signed Agreement on Student Exchange and Agreement on Academic Exchange between IACAS and JAIST. Based on these agreements, IACAS and JAIST will collaborate at institute level and the agreement laid solid foundation for future exchanges between these two institutes.
