A brief description of current research interests

My current job is to research the acoustic localization of sound sources in a reverberation-limited environment, including virtual sources cancellation, multi-sources separation and tracking, source identification. The main field I am studying is to enhance robustness and accuracy of the steering map of a cross microphone array. There are some other ways also used for source tracking adaptively. Aim to use a small microphone array to track moving sources such as aircraft in the air, vehicles on the ground, and speakers in a room.

In civil applications, microphone array technique has also been commonly used in the conference-calling systems to enhance the speech signal and cancel the background noise, as well as to track the speaker. However, there are many challenges such as the reverberation of the room and the multi-sources situation, which would seriously degrade the performance of the traditional microphone array. Many methods are studied to solve the problem such as de-reverberation and blind-separation. Array signal's correlation can be used to find out their hypostatic relationships to perform noise and echo cancellations and signal enhancement. Sub-band filter is also used to solve narrowband echoes in a broadband source.
