This special session of WUWNet’18 provides a forum for scientists and engineers over the world to present their new theoretical results and techniques in the fields of Underwater Acoustics. This session will be held in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China in December 3-5, 2018. It is sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of Acoustics, Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. We sincerely welcome our colleagues worldwide to join us for this session. Topics of interests are in the broad areas of this special session, including but not limited to:
-
Ocean ambientnoise
-
Modeling and experiment for underwater sound propagation in complexenvironment
-
Ocean acoustictomography
-
Ocean reverberation andclutter
-
Underwater sound scattering and fluctuation
-
Characteristics of underwater acousticchannel
-
Underwater acoustic communication networks with adaptive capacity toenvironment
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
-------------------------------------
Submissions of technical papers must describe original research, not published or currently under review at other workshops, conferences, journals, or magazines.
All papers will be reviewed by the program committee members for novelty and originality of the contribution. This session accepts full and short papers. Short papers may represent less mature work than full papers, or may contain new ideas to be further developed in future research. Full papers should be more complete in their treatment of the topic. Paper submission will be handled electronically.
Authors should prepare a PDF version of their papers. The page limit for full papers is 8 pages, and that for short papers is 5 pages in standard ACM conference format.
In addition, position papers with 2-page extended abstracts (in standard ACM conference format) can be submitted, e.g., for fast dissemination of interesting intermediate results of undergoing research, promising progresses, educational overview on the state of the art in this field, and insightful analysis of the historical or futuristic developments on various underwater topics. Full- and short-paper submissions that are not accepted may be recommended to be accepted as position papers (2-page extended abstracts).
