Prof. Danilo Orlando from University of Niccolò Cusano, Italy, visited the Institute of Acoustics (IOA), Chinese Academy of Sciences, for two weeks from June 28. He delivered academic lectures titled “Adaptive Detection Using Double Training Data Set” and “Detection of Multiple Noise-like Jammers” in IOA.

Prof. Danilo Orlando was invited by Prof. HAO Chengpeng from Key Laboratory of Information Technology for AUVs, CAS.

Adaptive detection plays an important role in real systems, such as radar and sonar. In the reports, Prof. Danilo Orlando introduced newly research progress and showed the steps to design new detectors that are capable of taking advantage of new methods.

In the Q&A session, Prof. Danilo Orlando answered questions about his research asked by the audience. He then discussed the possible cooperation between the two sides in the future with the research team led by Prof. HAO.

Prof. Danilo Orlando is Senior Member of IEEE, a visiting scientist of “CAS President's International Fellowship Initiative”, who has more than 80 scientific publications. His research interests focus on statistical signal processing and image processing, with more emphasis on adaptive detection and tracking of multiple targets in multisensor scenarios.
