Prof. TIAN Jing from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), president of Acoustical Society of China has been elected Fellow of Acoustical Society of America (ASA). It is to honor Prof. TIAN’s achievements in acoustics and contributions to cooperation between China and the U.S.
Graduated from the Institute of Acoustics, CAS, Prof. TIAN has researched electro-acoustic and noise control for more than 30 years. He has made his great efforts in accomplishment of more than 40 projects for National Natural Science Foundation, "863 Program", "973 Program" and international exchanges and cooperation of CAS.
Prof. TIAN is also the Vice President for the International Commission on Acoustics, Honorary fellow of International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration, Executive Editor in Chief for Acta Acustica, Director member of Technical Committee of National Acoustical Standardization.
The ASA, the premier international scientific society in acoustics is dedicated to increasing and diffusing the knowledge of acoustics and its practical applications. Diverse fields of interest in acoustics include physics, engineering, architecture, noise, oceanography, biology, speech and hearing, psychology and music. The well-known physicist Prof. Dah-You Maa from the Institute of Acoustics, CAS was elected Honorary fellow of ASA in 2012.
