On Dec. 6th, WANG Xiaomin, Vice President of the Acoustical Society of China (ASC) and Director of the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences was invited to the Hong Kong Institute of Acoustics (HKIOA) 20th Anniversary. Director WANG delivered a speech on the event on behalf of the ASC and President TIAN Jing, extending sincere congratulations for the 20th anniversary.
For a long term, the ASC and the HKIOA have a good relationship on cooperation and exchange for contributing to the acoustic profession. Moreover, the acoustic fields in the Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan have maintained close ties, which promotes their development of acoustic academic research and its applications.
In the international arena, the 8th International Congress on Sound and Vibration, the 38th INTER-NOISE and the Western Pacific Acoustics Conferences are all proof of mutual full support between the ASC and the HKIOA.
The HKIOA was also grateful for the work of the ASC in the “Acoustics 2012 Hong Kong”, together with the Acoustical Society of America and the Western Pacific Commission for Acoustics, which won wide acclaim from the international counterparts.
XU Weijie and WANG Yan from the Shanghai Acoustical Society also attended the anniversary as invited.
For the HKIOA 20th Anniversary, seven distinguished speakers whom were experts and well-known figures in the acoustic professional communities have shared their experiences on topics covering environmental noise, architectural acoustics, electro-acoustics, green school acoustics, health acoustics and innovation. The ASC and the HKIOA experts and scholars had exchanged their insights during the event and will meet the further progress for acoustics.
