Oct. 14, internationally renowned Prof. Chin-Hui Lee from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology visited the Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IACAS), strengthening exchanges and cooperation in speech analysis and recognition.
This academic exchange activity was hosted by Prof. YAN Yonghong, Director of the Key Laboratory of Speech Acoustics and Content Understanding of IACAS.
Prof. Lee also delivered a spectacular presentation named “Next-Generation Speech Processing: An Information Extraction Perspective” which was intended to illustrate new possibilities of future speech via linking analysis and processing of raw speech signals with extracting multiple layers of useful information.
After presentation, Prof. Lee visited the Key Laboratory of Speech Acoustics and Content Understanding, coming to know the speech recognition progress of IACAS.
Prof. Lee is a Fellow of the IEEE, and has published 400 papers and 30 patents. As well, he edited the book Automatic Speech and Speaker Recognition: Advanced Topics, and has contributed chapters to ten books.
