Array Directivity and Synthesis--- Introducing one kind of software for designing arrays

 | |

LAN Jun from the AIRMAR Technology Corporation (focusing on ultrasonic transducers and sensing technology) gave a lecture of “Array Directivity and Synthesis” introducing one kind of software for designing arrays on Apr. 8 at Conference Room 218 of Dezhao South Building.

LAN was invited by the Underwater Acoustic Transducer and Testing Technology Laboratory and the Weak Signal Detecting and Processing Laboratory.

LAN has engaged in research and design of transducers and arrays for over 40 years, and has published nearly 40 papers and a book named “Array Directivity and Synthesis”.

LAN has designed nearly 1000 transducer and several hundred arrays in his life.

Besides, he has created two kinds of large-scaled software: one is for designing transducers by Finite element method that is very powerful and useful; the other one is for designing arrays and there is no paralleled product in the international market. In LAN’s lecture, he introduced the latter software in details.

Using this kind of software, various kinds of array patterns could be designed, such as grid array, cylinder array, sphere array and even any array adjusting to the needs. Designers could use this software by setting up the parameters of array element layers, numbers and spacing between them. Both plane and three-dimensional patterns can be calculated and computed by it.
