The China Ocean Mineral Resources R & D Association (COMRA) examined and approved the sub-task of acoustic systems in China's manned submersible Jiaolong at Wuxi city.

On Jun. 12, 2012, the key program of “7000-meter Manned Submersible” was launched officially by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China.

During the years of tasks, the China's manned submersible “Jiaolong” pulled a respectable oar, reaching the greatest depth of 7,062 meters, which marked a fresh breakthrough and a giant leap in the development of China's deep-sea exploration technology.

The acoustic systems of Jiaolong designed and integrated by our institute were in good working condition, providing a strong guarantee for the success in the sea trials. Wherein, the underwater acoustic communication system and equipments gave an outstanding performance in all the trials, which guaranteed the real-time communications between the mother ship and the sub. Sounds, images, letters and other signals instantaneously transferred were clear and communications were smooth. All of these played an indispensable role throughout.

The sub-task is being examined
