2012 Chinese Statistical Data of Science and Technology Papers Was Released

Dec 5, last Friday, the Institute of Scientific and Technical Informationof China (ISTIC) published its annual report, the Statistical Data of Science and Technology Papers 2012.

According to the report, between the year 2002 and 2012, 7.3 percent of the top 1 percent most-cited papers were from China, making the country the world's fifth-largest producer of high-quality papers, after the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and France.

Among these academic publications, the Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging Technology (CJMIT) sponsored by IACAS made another success this year. Its total scores added by impact factor and comprehensive evaluation together ranked first among twenty-nine journals of military medicine, specialty medicine and medical imaging. In particular, for three years its comprehensive evaluation scores had been ranked first in this field. Besides, CJMIT’s comprehensive evaluation scores ranked 42 in the 1998 statistical source core journals of the Chinese science and technology papers, which was its best result in history. In addition, CJMIT was selected as 2012 “100 Outstanding Academic Journals of China”.

Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging Technology (CJMIT, CN 11-1881/R; ISSN 1003-3289; CODEN ZYYJEI, monthly) is an academic journal on medical imaging science and technology. The journal is sponsored by IACAS and distributed around the world. It is the periodical of the Statistical Source of Chinese Science and Technology Papers and the Chinese Core Academic Journal. CJMIT started publication in 1985. The journal mainly covers the fields of radiology diagnosis, X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound imaging diagnosis, nuclear medical diagnosis, endoscope diagnosis and long distance diagnosis. The journal is designed for doctors, researchers, engineers and technicians involved in the fields of medical imaging diagnosis and medical imaging equipment research and development.

The Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China(ISTIC) was established in October, 1956. It is a national comprehensive information center directly under the Ministry of Science and Technology. In the past several decades, as a scientific and technological information research institute at national level, ISTIC has made significant impact at home and abroad. It has played an important role in basic research in documentation, decision oriented information consulting service, development of Chinese information resources, development of a nation-wide online information retrieval system, and construction of China scientific and technological information network etc. Many of its research achievements and important projects have won the state’s awards.
