INTERNOISE 2012

Due to numerous requests, we are granting a two week extension to the abstract deadline for Internoise 2012 to Wednesday, 29 February. This extension also applies to the Student Paper Award competition and the Young Professionals Travel Grant Competition.

As you may recall, Internoise 2012 will be held this year in the heart of New York City, 19-22 August, at the Marriott Marquis hotel. We have received over 1,000 abstracts so far, and anticipate a large meeting spanning many interest areas.

If you haven't already, please see: www.internoise2012.com/callabstracts.shtml to learn more about the session topics, find guidance for writing abstracts and papers, and to submit your abstract. Papers are due 15 May 2012.

Internoise 2012 will feature, along with the technical program,

· a sold out exposition of over 60 vendors displaying noise and vibration control materials, analysis software, and measurement systems and instrumentation

· a series of 14 short courses on noise and vibration preceding and following the conference

· Plenary sessions on City Noise Codes, the Effects of Noise on Children, and Airport Noise

We look forward to seeing your abstract submission, and welcoming you to New York City this August.

Sincerely,
Stephen Hambric, General Chair
Stephen Conlon, Technical Chair
Brent Paul, ASME NCAD Chair

OA 2012

The Third International Conference on Ocean Acoustics (OA2012) will be held 21-25 May 2012 in Beijing, China, the week following the Acoustics 2012 in Hong Kong.

Abstracts are invited in a wide range of topics in ocean acoustics as listed on the conference poster and website at www.ioa.cas.cn/oa2012. Please visit the recently updated conference website for details on abstract submission, visa application and committee members.

The new deadline for abstract submission is 16 March 2012.

One highlight of the conference will be a series of invited review papers on progress in various areas of ocean acoustics over the last 30 years. A listing of authors and titles for these 30-year review papers will be posted on the conference website in the near future.

We hope to see you in Beijing.
