(Key Laboratory of Noise and Vibration Research) Invited by Obukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics (OIAP), Russian Academy of Sciences, Senior Researcher YANG Yichun had a friendly visit to the institute from July 15th to 21th, 2011.
OIAP is one of the leading research centers in the world in the field of atmospheric science, which was founded by Alexander Obukhov in 1956 to study basic processes in the atmosphere by means of achievements in physics, mechanics and applied mathematics. The range of studies carried out by OIAP is sufficiently broad and it has three experimental research bases, three research department composition of the atmosphere and one division of atmospheric dynamics.
A deep discussion between Russian side, including Deputy Director Sergey Kulichkov, senior researcher Igor Chunchuzov and Chinese side has been operated. Senior researcher Yang told about the development of key laboratory of noise and vibration research in the field of infrasound and the new plan-construction of infrasonic sensor array in the wide area and study on relation between natural disasters and infrasound. Sergey said he had studied infrasound signal from earthquake but not before earthquake. He was much interested in idea from Chinese side. In the meantime, He showed analysis software based on PE theory, which explained well observed infrasound data from long range exploration. After two-hour discussion, both sides enhanced mutual understanding and reached broad consensus. Both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
Chinese visitors also looked around meteorological station in Lomonosov Moscow State University, which was founded in 1954 and had a long-term close relationship with OIAP. Prof. M.B. lomonocova led Chinese side to visit equipment in use and showed new wind data in Moscow area.
