(From LIANG Chunyan of Thinkit Speech Lab) The joint lab of IACAS and GongDa Electro-Acoustics set up by Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IACAS) and Shandong GongDa Electro-Acoustics Corp. was formally opened on September 18th, 2010. Sun Xiaosheng, the associate director of Shandong Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology (MCEIT), and Li Chuanheng, the vice chairman of Political Consultative Conference and director of MCEIT in Weifang City, unveiled for the joint lab. Professor Ju Qi, the vice director of IACAS, Professor Ji Peiwen, the executive vice director of Natural Science Funds Commission's Mathematical Physics Department, Professor Yan Yonghong, the assistant director of IACAS and director of ThinkIt Lab, and Lu Ping, the head of Shandong MCEIT's Information Department, as well as some leaders of Weifang City's Technology Division, Area Committee and Area Government of Fangzi and other related departments, attended the opening ceremony.
Shandong GongDa Electro-Acoustics Corp. , which was set up in 2001, is an enterprise producing miniature electro-acoustic components. The Corporation which owns over 1700 staffs is a high-tech enterprise confirmed by the National Technology Department. It has been named the "China's Top 100 Electronic Components Enterprises" for four consecutive years since 2007. Its main products include electret microphones, MEMS microphones, microspeakers, telephone receivers and so on. The research center of the company has been certificated as the "Shandong Acoustic Components Research Center" and it will be replied as the provincial "Technical Center".
IACAS is a department professionally engaged in acoustic and signal processing research, whose technique of speech signal processing is in the leading position in China. Shandong GongDa Electro-Acoustics Corp. and IACAS together set up the joint lab of IACAS- GongDa Electro-Acoustics, building up a long-term strategic co-operation relationship in speech signal processing, speech recognition controlling system and the elector-acoustic products' research, which is important for improving the elector-acoustic technique and the enterprise's ability to innovate, providing better products and service for users and enhancing the competitiveness in domestic market.
