On Nov.18, a deputy of State Oceanic Administration led by WANG Hua, Deputy Director of Oceanic Prediction and Disaster Reduction Department visited IACAS. The visitors looked around the institute and had a seminar with staff and researchers of IACAS.
On behalf of the institute, KU Weiqun, Deputy Director of Science and Technology Department made a report of the overall situation and mainly introduced the latest research results in underwater acoustics, oceanic environment, exploration, disaster prediction and so on.
Deputy Director WANG Hua stated the working plan in oceanic prediction, disaster reduction and nation's commercial demand in technology and equipment. The visitors also put forward some questions in acoustic towing system, seabed surface layer measurement, synthetic aperture sonar and so on. Deputy Director WANG highly praised the research results the institute had obtained and hoped the institute could make more contributions to nation's oceanic field.
Finally, Director WANG Xiaomin of IACAS made a conclusion speech. He said IACAS kept a good cooperation term in State Oceanic Administration and he believed that the visit would be of great significance to enhancing the collaboration between the two sides.
