New system for underwater orientation successfully developed

 | |

"High-precise acoustic orientation system of detector in beach shallow sea", developed by Weak Signal Detecting and Processing Laboratory of IACAS smoothly passed the marine experimental examination in Dongying Port, Shandong province from Nov.3 to 6. Owing to the joint efforts of all the members of the laboratory and Shengli Oil Field, the examination was carried out successfully. The system grants the responder the function of ranging, recognizing, real-time orienting and re-positioning of post processing. The test result showed that the device met the supposed requirements, to some extent, even superior than the imported devices of the same kind.

Nowadays, with the increasing demand of energy, oil exploration in shallow sea became more and more popular. However, the excursion of detector for sea quake exploration data collection remains a big problem for earthquake exploration in shallow sea. The excursion brings about time difference, which can not be removed by static or dynamic correction. This will seriously effects the accuracy of imaging of earthquake exploration data. The accurate orientation of detector is a must requirement for high-precise earthquake exploration in shallow sea.

The acoustic orientation system is the best technique to ensure the detector orientation so far as concerned. Our country relies on import to get the system for a long time. R& D and produce the system independently can save lots of product cost and upgrade the precision of oil field exploration in shallow sea. The successful development of the system will play a significant role in raising the level of oil exploration in China.
