On Mar.28, IACAS held the meeting to launch the "Deep-water Multi-beam Echo Sounding System" research program. The leaders from the Administrative Center for China's Agenda 21, 715 Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Company, The Second Institute of Oceanography, IACAS, etc. presented at the meeting.
The research on "Deep-water Multi-beam Echo Sounding System" was a key program of "863 Program" in marine technology field, which was jointly undertaken by IACAS, 715 Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Company and the Second Institute of Oceanography. The aim of the research was to R&D a deep-water multi-beam echo sounding device of dependent intellectual property, which could carry out submarine topography and geomorphology exploration below the sea from 20 to 11000 meters. This program played an important role in promoting the fast and sound development of underwater acoustic studies and devices.
The leaders of IACAS paid great attention to this research program. The research group made overall preparation from organization, system, research condition, personnel configuration and so on. On the meeting, the group made a detailed report on the achievements got in the former stages. The leaders of the Administrative Center for China's Agenda 21 set great hope to the research group and Deputy Director JU Qi, on behalf of IACAS, delivered a speech to express our determination to successfully accomplish the program on time.
