2007 National Environmental Acoustics Conference was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang Provience form Nov.12 to 15. The conference was sponsored by the Environmental Acoustics Branch of Acoustical Society of China (ASC) and was jointly supported by the Environmental Physics Committee of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences (CSES), Environmental Sciences Department of Zhejiang University and Shanghai Academy of Environmental Sciences (SAES). Prof. TIAN Jing, board chairman of ASC and the director of Environmental Physics Committee of CSES, was appointed to be the Chairman of the conference and Prof. CHENG Mingkun, director of the Environmental Acoustics Branch of ASC, was appointed to be the Executive Chairman of the conference. 128 delegates presented at the conference held warm discussion on the theme of the conference "Traffic Noise Control Countermeasures in 21st Century".

The opening ceremony of the conference was held in Ningbo Jiangnanchun Hotel. Mr. XING Hui, Director of Academic Department of Ningbo Association of Science and Technology, Mr. TU Shouding, Secretary General of Ningbo Society of Electronics and Ms. LUO Yan, Administrative Director of ASC attended the ceremony. Director TIAN Jing delivered an opening speech, extending warm welcome to all the attendants and best wishes to the conferences on behalf of ASC.　 

2007 National Environmental Acoustics Conference was considered as one of the 2007 important academic conferences. All together, the organizing committee received more and 100 papers, among which 96 excellent ones were picked out to be published in the supplement of Noise and Vibration Control.　

The attendants had warm group discussion. They exchanged ideas on the development tendency and evaluation methods of traffics noise. Furthermore, they put forward plenty of valuable advice. The conference featured with the distinct theme and full contents, which was considered as a successful one.
