Our institute and Hubei Institute of Nationalities signed a cooperation agreement on May.22, 2007. Both the two institutes hope to carry on further cooperation on science and technology R&D, academic exchanges and talents cultivation. Ju Qi, Deputy Director of our institute and Hu Maocheng, secretary of the party committee of Institute of Nationalities attended the signature ceremony.
Hubei Institute of Nationalities locates in the Enshi City of Hubei province. It is an institute oriented on the undergraduate education. There are 12 departments affiliated to the institute, among which the Digital Signal Processing Department has already had some cooperation with our institute. It has successfully accomplished many software module design work under direction of our institute. In order to display respective advantages and features fully and accomplish the researching and teaching tasks better, both sides agreed to sign the cooperation agreement. The agreement includes four aspects: 1) The two institutes jointly apply for and carry on the national and international projects based on the present cooperation; 2) Our institute will regularly send professors to give academic lectures and directions. The Hubei institute of Nationalities will choose some talents to have exchanges and professional training in our institute; 3) A joint signal processing lab will be set up in Hubei Institute of Nationalities; 4) Our institute will set up a practicing base for the students from Hubei Institute of Nationalities. Both sides are determined to cultivate excellent students with solid theoretical background and rich practical experience.
On the signature ceremony, Deputy Director Ju Qi introduced the present situation of our institute as well as the methods and experience of inter-institute cooperation. She emphasized our institute all along attached the importance to the cooperation with universities, institutes and enterprises. She hoped through this cooperation both sides would share mutual resources, compensate respective disadvantages and hand in hand for the bright future.
After the ceremony, Deputy Director Ju Qi paid a visit to the beautiful campus. And the researcher professor Cai Huizhi, Dr. Wang Baijiang, Dr. Zhang Haibin and Dr. Xing Tao all gave impressive lectures.
Hubei Institute of Nationalities locates in the hinterland of Hubei Province, which is a minorities gathering area and also one of the Key Counties to be aided by the State. And Hubei Institute of Nationalities is the only university in this area. The cooperation of our institute and Hubei Institute of Nationalities indicates that our institute has already be head in supporting construction in western region and assisting higher education and technology development in minority areas.
