State Councilor Chen Zhili made a visitation tour to Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IACAS) accompanied by CAS President Lu Yongxiang on January 23, 2007.

After visiting to Network and Media Technology Research Center, Ultrasonic Physics and Testing Lab and the state key acoustic lab of our institute, Madame Chen along with CAS leaders listened to our researchers' reports titled "Application of High Performance Wideband Information Network" and "Multi-channel Digital Imaging Ultrasonic Testing Equipment" and had a view of the presentation show of our latest products and advanced equipment. On behalf of IACAS, Director Tian Jing made a work report of the achievements of our institute in "knowledge innovation program" for the visitors.

During the visitation, Madame Chen showed great interest in our institute's research results and fully confirmed the progress that IACAS has made in the "knowledge innovation program" over the past years. She was happy to see there were many talented and diligent young scientists becoming the main research power of science and technology innovation project. She urged IACAS to undertake more national key research projects and make fresh breakthroughs in the development of significant high technologies so as to provide solutions to the strategic issues facing the country and render powerful support to the country's drive of building a harmonious society. Furthermore, she encouraged IACAS to fully take its advantages in education in order to train and cultivate more and more talented and professional people for our country.
