(Feng Zhentan from National Network New Media Engineering Research Center) In order to strengthen regulation, improve project management system, standardize and institutionalize project implementation process, National Network New Media Engineering Research Center (3NCenter) decided to bring CMMI into its management system. CMMI stands for Capability Maturity Model Integration, also translated as "Capability Maturity Model Integration", funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, the United States. The process improvement model is created and published by Carnegie - Mellon University Software Engineering Institute (SEI). CMMI is now widely accepted and applied to software engineering, systems engineering and other engineering management standards certification process in the world.

After about three months for preparation, 3NCenter launched CMMI in July, 2009. On Jun.28 and 29, the related staff had the first round of training for the smooth implementation of CMMI program. Prof. Wang Jinlin, Director of 3NCenter presented at the training. All participants listened carefully and interacted actively with the teacher. After the lesson, the participants had a clearer mind about different goals, practice situation, practice process framework in various stages of CMMI. The training lay good foundation for the future implementation of CMMI.
