From Aug. 27 to 30, the 46th International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control Engineering, Inter-Noise 2017 was held in Hong Kong. Professor YANG Jun, with Prof. GAO Yan and Dr. YU Ziying from the Key Laboratory of Noise and Vibration Research, CAS were invited to attend this meeting and make presentations.

Focusing on the theme of Taming Noise and Moving Quiet, Inter-Noise 2017 was organized by Hong Kong Institute of Acoustics and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in conjunction with the NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) branch of the Society of Automotive Engineering China and the Acoustical Society of China.

Prof. YANG Jun was invited as member of secretaries on behalf of Acoustical Society of China. He participated in I-INCE (International Institute of Noise Control Engineering) General Assembly and attended opening ceremony for Inter-Noise 2017 on August 27.

Prof. GAO Yan and Dr. YU Ziying presented their papers respectively with the topic of “Use of a zero-crossing matching algorithm for leak detection in buried water pipes”, “Leak detection in pipelines using Hilbert transform”, “Penetration-free acoustic data transmission based active noise control”, which aroused wide attention and lively discussions.

Inter-Noise is an annual event organized and held by I-INCE since 1972. Researchers from all over the world shared latest research progress and hotspots in noise control and relevant fields. They also had a heated discussion and talked over details for future cooperation.
