Invited by theUltrasound Physics and Detection Laboratory, Professorate Senior Engineer LI Changwen and his co-workers of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Logging visited IACAS for the exchange of views on logging instruments of domestic petroleum corporation on Apr. 27.

During the visit, LI Changwen made a lecture titled “CNPC Logging Technology R&D Development”, introducing the CNPC Logging corporate profile of their company’s service, personnel structure and scientific programs. It focused on a series of logging instruments they researched and manufactured, such as acoustic array, array induction and logging-while-drilling tool. In the field application, there are still some shortcomings and deficiencies of these instruments to be overcome. At last, LI Changwen provided information of their database resource integration system based on the digital technology and network technology in the oil field application of CNPC.

On behalf of the Ultrasound Physics and Detection Laboratory, Associate researcher CHEN Haogenerally introduced development and main technology improvement of the distant detection acoustic imaging logging. He emphasized the laboratory’s work foundation and achievements of related fields, as well demonstrated the advantages of the reverse-time migration (RTM) imaging methods and application prospect of the distant detection acoustic imaging.

At last, Director WAND Xiuming of the Laboratory hoped that further cooperation could be made between both sides to resolve the R&D problem of the domestic acoustic logging instruments and improve the ability of the independent R&D of the instruments. LI Changwen agreed with Wang and also raised some R&D needs in the field application.
